Location:
Beverly Hills, California
Design Team: Pei Cobb Freed
Completion: 1989
A headquarters office building for one of Hollywood's most prominent literary and talent agencies. Its design emerges from an irregular site and is based on a geometry of segmented circles with different center points and radii. The dramatic atrium was designed as an art-filled formal reception hall with a 100-seat screening room and gourmet kitchen. Circuited by open walkways, glazed offices, high-visibility stairs, and a monumental entrance that puts interior activities on display, the atrium is the functional central core of the building
Located at one of the busiest intersections in Los Angeles, the north wing reflects the continuous traffic of one half-million cars that pass by the building each day which required special acoustic consideration. Acoustic services were also provided for 44,500 SF of offices on three floors; the 56' high atrium; three conference rooms, and a 100-seat screening room.
